Artic Stuck On A Narrow Track
Following a telephone call from a customer regarding a fully loaded artic stuck on a narrow farm track, we arrived to find that the nearside of the trailer was actually off the road and had sunk to its axles. The front axle was hard up against a concrete bridge, and the trailer was leaning heavily to the nearside and in danger of sliding down a 20-foot embankment and into the river below.
We immediately set up our Foden Recovery Unit with a sideways pull to prevent the trailer from sliding further away.
The rotating crane was then set up and the rear of the trailer lifted and pulled back onto the road.
No damage was caused during the recovery but the driver did suffer a bruised ego !
